Why is the petition to Gina McCarthy in support of the NSPS important to you?
This being the only source of heat for our home I want it to be clean burning and efficient and expect the product I use meet these standards.
Would prefer not to need a protective face mask while breathing.
Arbey E, RUMNEY, NH
Clean air is life!!!!
Kerry G, ALANSON, MI
Cleaner air is always important to all of us.

Wood heat is important to the working poor. Let's clear the smoke and make an affordable wood stove for those that need the heat!
Vito L, STATEN ISLAND, NY
Why is this important to me? Grandchildren's lungs
Frank B, LAPEER, MI
Best available data I have seen indicate that we are on the way to a global environmental catastrophe. I want to do whatever I can to help avoid that. Cleaner burning wood stoves is a small part of the solution that I can contribute to.
William H, MAKANDA, IL
I burn wood for my heat but also believe that I am responsible to help preserve the integrity of "Spaceship Earth" for clean air.
John C, HAMMOND, LA
Having clean air to breathe is important for present and future generations.
Paula C, CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ
Our environment is our life, we must do all that we can to protect it and make it better.
John F, TREVOSE, PA
I believe in any opportunity to improve the environment if available should be provided.
Jennie S, ATLANTA, GA
At my former home, we were seriously negatively affected by our neighbors outdoor wood boiler. At the time there were no legal approaches to stop our unwilling neighbor from engulfing our home in smoke. We suffered respiratory problems and our farm animals needed medial attention. Our property was constantly accosted with particulates deposited on the surface of the buildings and grounds. We had a horse farm and hay fields. One of my horses never recovered and still suffers from respiratory problems and neurological issues. Please do what you can to stop dirty discharges from outdoor wood boilers. Thank you.
Mary Jane D, POLAND, ME
Clean air should be important to everyone
David R, CLAREMORE, OK
Burning the smoke and gasses will create more usable heat.
Rick S, LISBON, IA
The environment and its protection are absolutely necessary for our, our children, and all future generations. The new regulations will help insure such protection.
David S, GARDINER, NY
Keeping the burning of renewable fuels as clean as possible will assure they remain as part of our energy solution. I live in an area where quality firewood is plentiful and burning wood keeps my energy costs low.
George W, ELK RIVER, MN
Wood is a renewable resource, and if we can burn it cleanly we help save our earth.
Wendy F, DANSVILLE, NY
I like to breathe fresh air and clean burning woodstoves make that more possible
Wes C, WILLIAMSVILLE, VT
Fresh air is one of the essential elements on earth. Clean stove technology is widely available and to be used in place of old smoky stoves and fireplaces.

It's good for the world and for our health. It's the right thing to do.
Emily H, COLVILLE, WA
Wood can be an important source of heat in many parts of the country and can be environmentally sound if you use a low emitting stove. I fully support these standards
Liz K, VOOHEESVILLE, NY
We heat our home with wood, because we can't afford the oil our furnace burns. We use an efficient stove and are pleased with our choice from an ecologic, economic and political perspective.
Ellen M, BARRINGTON, RI
A great way to heat homes with a renewable resource. The cleaner the better.
Ronald B, AWENDAW, SC
I want clean air for my children's, children's, children

This is important to me because I have had too many friends and relatives die from lung cancer. We bury another tomorrow.
Roy L, MARLBOROUGH, MA
I believe wood fired heat is a zero net carbon emissions, renewable and relieves some of our dependence on fossil fuels, therefore a wise decision and even wiser to work towards cleaner and more efficient wood stoves
Daniel V, BETHANY, CT
I have a next door neighbor who has an outdoor wood boiler and it sends more pollution into the air than 15 Woodstock Soapstone Stoves. I own a Woodstock and I am proud to be able to burn wood and still keep the air clean.
Robert D, CHEPACHET, RI
Clean air is important for all. Also carbon emission contribute to global warming
Richard E, EL DORADO, AR
As Woodstock Soapstone says, it's environmentally right thing to do.
John B, WYNNEWOOD, OR
I support this as it is "the right thing to do" - clean burning stoves are not just good for air quality but they reduce waste (more heat in the home for the wood). However, effort needs to be made to encourage folks to burn clean - even a good stove can pollute if burned improperly.
Erik H, MILFORD, MA
Cleaner wood burning stoves are great. Since I have been using mine I have not seen the build up in the stove pipe as I did with my old cast iron stove plus it saves me in the amount of wood that I burn each year. You build great stoves Woodstock Soapstone Co.
Otis F, VOTAW, TX
Cleaner air should be everyone's concern and responsibility
Frank H, NORTH BRANCH, MI
My Keystone puts out more heat using 1/3 less wood. When the catalytic is on, there is no visible smoke indicating a very clean burn. I am all for clean burning stoves. It means , for one thing, that less wood is being used. I do have a problem with the feds telling us we have to. I think that, like gun controls, the end game is to make heating with wood illegal, and as with the EPA, making it so expensive to farm that the small producers will be moved out of the market. The feds are not your friends. They are like coyotes. If they get their nose under the gate they will eat all the chickens.
Jon L, ST. JOSEPH, MO
Clean air and water are vitally important to me and my children.
Gregory S, CUMBERLAND, ME
Cleaner wood stove technology means more BTUs of heat in my living room and less particulates in my lungs!

We all need to work toward cleaner air.
Jerry W, NEW MARKET, MD
We need to be able to heat and breathe!
Jane R, AYER, MA
We burn wood as do many of my neighbors and there is nothing more offensive than a smoldering stove emitting large amounts of smoke and fumes
Brian N, TORRINGTON, CT
I paid more for my more valuable stove and after 9 years of use a professional chimney sweep came to clean our double-walled stainless steel chimney and went away saying, "There is nothing there to clean". We always burn seasoned hardwood but took no other precautions on a daily basis.
Judy G, COLUMBIA, MO
I use and support the choice to use clean, efficient wood stoves!
Will F, BLOCK ISLAND, RI
Because the public health benefits outweigh the costs of compliance.
Paul T, MAYS LANDING, NJ
Need to bring 20th century technology into the woodstove business.
Peter T, NASHUA, NH
Clean air is better for everyone. If this can be done affordably I can't imagine why there would be a reason not to set higher standards for clean air.
Tricia L, DAWSONVILLE, GA

Andy H, SNOHOMISH, WA
We heat with wood stoves and wood-burning pollution is a concern of ours.
Steve H, IDAHO SPRINGS, CO
We all must do our part to clean up our environment
Frank M, KENNEBUNK, ME
I spent several hundred dollars more for a stove with a catalytic converter, which is quite easy to operate, I also mostly burn eco-bricks.There are so few people in the nation that heat with wood stoves perhaps 1 in 700 that cleaner air efforts would be better spent elsewhere.
Stephen B, PROVO, UT
Cleaner burning woodstoves = less fossil fuel use and more money remaining in the local economy for fuel expenditures, as well as higher 'burn for the buck' and lower emissions. best of all possible worlds.
Jen D, FREEVILLE, NY
I own a wood stove and do not want to pollute our air.
Larry S, PLYMOUTH, NH
I like wood stoves but not dense smoke and want to do my bit for a better environment.
John S, CRESTED BUTTE (SOUTH), CO
My old smoke dragon used to literally choke me when I was outside. Our new Woodstock EPA stove burns so clean I can't believe I waited so long to switch.
Each of us need to be good stewards of our environment and do what ever we can to maintain and try to improve the health of the space we live in and will pass on to others.
Clean air and water are two of our most critical and easily achievable resources.
We MUST do everything possible to clean up the air we breath and keep it clean.
The technology is available.
So that my children's children can breath.
We only have one planet
Clean air is a no-brainer in theses times of global warming.
Clean air is a basic right to all living things.
We still can make a difference. On those cold still winter nights the smoke in the air is choking. We need to do better.

Clean air should be everyone's concern. Clean burning stoves can also be a huge benefit in other ways. For example, with our Fireview, we clean our chimney only about once every 3 or 4 years and get no creosote. Of course this is a combination of a very clean burning stove and using only good quality dry wood.
